The cherry scouts have posted some impressive rootstock fails over the years, where a cultivar is in the throes of being overcome by its Prunus avium rootstock. The ones with 'Kanzan' scions are the most noticeable, producing obviously two-toned trees. A new scout is about to post a fine example, and now I'm surprised to find that I can't point her to a thread where I have collected these. Let's see what I can dig up. [Edited ]- I've posted several, but did not find the one I actually remember. Maybe I'll find it one day. The first one I've found is in Sunset. Posted by Anne Eng.
