Yellow / red flower to ID

    Any help ID'ing the center flower with frilly-edged petals would be appreciated.
    Thanks! (Also, what are the botanical terms for its flower shape?)

    And, can you ID the little yellow globe flowers? (I was going to ask separately, then realized they were in this same photo.) The leaves are thin and frilly or lacy. The leaves and stems have a smell reminiscent of tomato plants, very pungent.

    Let me know if you need a better picture of either.

    I suppose that this is a species (or a hybrid) of Gaillardia

    I think you nailed it. Looks identical to this picture of Gaillardia aristata 'Kobold'.

    What about the yellow "globe flower"? Another clue: If left alone, it can develop into a thick cluster of stems several feet across, as in these pictures.
