Can anyone please help in identifying the flower pictured in the attached thumbnail? I have had it in my garden in East Vancouver for about 10 years. It hasn't spread, but it does fine in a sheltered spot with good light and drainage. It blooms in May on 15 cm stalks with a number of blooms emerging successively along the length of the top of the flower stalks (see upper right), which have difficulty achieving verticality without some support, even that of its foliage, which is long (30 cm+) grass like leaves that tend to curve to the horizontal.
I think you nailed it; thank you. A friend in Grand Rapids, Michigan was also interested as he wanted to introduce it to his garden. Unfortunately, it appears that the States regard it as a noxious weed and prohibits its import.
