Is this plant next to the sidewalk at an apartment building in the West End Sonchus oleraceus, common sow thistle? The shiny deeply cut leaves are quite attractive; up near the flowers, the leaf shape changes and the base of the leaves appear to wrap around the stem. Flowers are in an inflorescence.
