Looking through some old scanned slides of plants from a US trip in 2001, I was wondering about one species. This photo was taken at the Independence Pass in the Rockies (altitude above 12,000 feet), in Colorado in late July. I was thinking maybe an Arabis species? Any idea what species it may be? Paalo
Based on Old World impressions of Gentianella, I would suggest no. But I am far from any expert on North American Gentian species, so you might be correct. Which species do you suggest?
Yes, it's Lewisia pygmaea. Not easy to see from the photograph, but it has characteristic for Portulacaceae two-sepal flowers.
