I found this small plant (about 20" high) growing near Quick's Bottom, Saanich BC.

Enter into Google Maps these Co-ordinates: 48.495594,-123.404027

It was growing along the edge of a trail composed of crushed rock screenings, at one of the lowest areas in the Quick's Bottom Park which is subject to heavy water and flooding in the winter/spring season. The other most common plants in the immediate vacinity are Canary Reed Grass and Hardhack (Sprirea douglasii).

    Does any one recognise this?

Sorry, I forgot to include anything to scale the flower ... the three pcitures show the flower, leaves and a seedhead.

    Compare these three:
    Geum aleppicum
    Geum macrophyllum
    Geum urbanum

Thank you! I see from my copy of Pojar/McKinnon aka Plants of Costal BC that one of those is likely to be an exact match!

The eFlora BC site has more information that should help me narrow it down.

Thank you very much for your help.
