Side of the road, bush about 2m tall with green leaves starting to turn red. Berries in clusters and are red. Flesh is yellowish with single flat stone.

Either Viburnum trilobum or Viburnum opulus (viburnums, not cranberries Vaccinium oxycoccus).

    Thanks Michael.

Our local guide does refer to these as "bush-cranberries" but I do understand the true cranberries are Vaccinium.

No worries about edibility correct? I realize, too, they're more of a sauce jelly thing as well.

Thanks again and have a great day. :)

Viburnum opulus is mildly toxic, but you'd have to eat a lot to come to harm. Not sure about Viburnum trilobum, it may be more edible.
