Hi, I just got back from vacation in Anguilla and discovered this bush/shrub on the beach. It has a great green smell and I am fascinated by the plant. Anguilla has an arid-tropical climate, which is very dry for a Caribbean island, and so I think that the plant is a succulent. I pricked two stems from the plant and placed them in a cup of water to see if it will shoot roots. The photo shows the cuttings. Please help!

It looks like Bay Cedar - Suriana Maritima, or a species of Surianaceae. Can someone confirm?

Can't confirm, but it does appear to be the same.
