Wildflowers: White wildflower Madeira

    These white wildflowers were growing on a bush-like plant in Madeira, taken in late May. Please help me identify them. Thank you.

    It's a rose. Someone else will have to do the species.

    It turns out to be a rockrose (Cistus monspeliensis)

    Sorry it is definitely not Cistus monspeliensis..the leaves are very wrong for that.

    "Cistus monspeliensis is a shrub with evergreen leaves and a hairy, glandular, sticky texture. The leaves are linear to lance-shaped, green, wrinkly, and up to 5 centimeters long.

    The inflorescence is generally a panicle of 2 to 8 flowers, each with five sepals and white petals"

    Agree with wcutler..Rosa sp...a white rose.
