This is a wild berry found in northern new jersey in my back yard. It has a very citrus-taste and seems similar to a raspberry, but the fruits are almost sticky. Any ideas what plant this is?
Rubus idaeus? Looks just like my Fallgold raspberries, which did exude sap (& got really sticky) when they were ready to eat.
Japanese wineberry. Identified as an invasive species from Asia (1890's) They are proliferating in our area this year (near Baltimore Maryland).
yes that seems to be the consensus reply from other forums as well. Those berries are great tasting I must say.
