this plant has been growing in my yard ever since I moved to my new house. It has spread and is now a small grove. It has leaves like a marijuana plant-7 leaflets, serrated edges, but has pink flowers, stands about two feet high, and has small spines. It also has very lon seed pods-about 3 to 4 inches-and the seeds are white. anyone know what it is?? if it is marijuana i want to know so i can get rid of it-don't want to get arrested for something the previous owners put there. Also, someone told me it was bee balm-but i looked bee balm up and it doesn't seem to look like this plant.

    Hello Tennessee,

I am not sure what it is, but Cannabis does not produce seeds in long pods, so not to worry about that. A photo would make ID easier. My first guess would be cleome, cannabis-like leaves, light coloured seeds in pods, spiny. Try an image search for that to see if it might be what you have.
