In The Garden: What Plant is This?

My mom recently brought over a plant for my garden and I have no idea what its name is. Can anyone help?

 

Some kind of Persicaria

 

Ones like this are common annual weeds. Take it out or you are liable to get more of them later.

 

Thanks so much. This is too funny. My mom came by and helped herself to some of my seeds in the garden and all she left me with is a weed. I must have a talk with her LOL.
