Some pictures here are close but there seem to my untrained eye to be too many points that do not match. Can you identify this huge old Oak tree that is growing in the middle of a field just by the leaf and the acorn? The leaf is very dark green and glossy and most all of them look like this one. The bark looks more like the Post Oaks I have and less like the Red Oaks or Black Jacks or White Oaks on my property here in central Arkansas. I've tried to find pictures that match and identify it myself but have not succeeded. Thanks for taking the time to view this.
Oak leaves can be highly variable on the same tree. You might can find one that looks like the "textbook" image. Could be a post oak.
