what kind of daylilies are these?

    These were growing in my yard when we moved here. They are about a foot tall. Thankyou.

    Many, many cultivars of daylily. The scientific name for daylily is Hemerocallis. I would be surprised if anyone knew the name off the top of his head, but someone could possibly know it. Try a search on this page(14K images on line). I thought it looked most like 'Sea Urchin' on this page, but with all the cultivars (thousands) out there that would just be a guess on my part.

    Thanks wrygrass, it does look like sea urchin. I had no idea there were so many kinds! I'm new to growing these and since it looked like a dwarf, I though there would be fewer kinds of them.

    Your chances that 'sea urchin' is correct is probably about 1 in 60,000. :) It was just something I came across in the search for a database containing a goodly number of choices.
