Does any body know this plant?
I got the pictures from a friend and was unable to give him the plant's name.
He said the leaves were big.

    Thank you very much!

What a great guess to pull out of your hat.

In fact, it seems Farfugium japonicum used to be known as Ligularia tussilaginea and Ligularia kaempferi. It is native to moist areas in Japan and eastern Asia.

I didn't pull it out of my hat, I recognized the similarity. I have seen the plant in multiple references and in person, as it is cultivated here. Local outlets offer more than one cultivar with variant foliage, these are grown in preference to the typical plant but the resemblance is still discernible.
