what is this leafy plant?

    I have these plants in the back area of my yard that borders wetlands, and partially into the woods where the wetlands begins. It spreads and carpets a large area and looks really pretty. They are about 2-3 inches tall each.

    (sorry they're sideways)

    Hmmm... I looked up impatiens and I didn't see any with leaves that look like this. These plants are much more delicate looking than the pictures I saw of impatiens. I don't remember there being any flowers last year (It was my first summer in my house).

    I was impressed that Ron came up with an ID for that one. Looks like he is right.

    Impatiens capensis seedlings

    I just know that I. capensis is very common in the East.

    Oh, ok! so still the baby version of the plant. lol. And now that I see the flowers in those pics, I do remember them from last year. I just didn't have near as many. I am unable to mow that area of my yard this year because the ground is too saturated; so now they are free to grow back there.
