I finally decided that it is mature lemon scented gum tree Eucalyptus citriodora but now I am not sure again! Help!!!
Bark: Smooth throughout, pink or blue-grey, thick. Bark is shed in patches which are usually more of less eliptical, leaving slight depressions in the surface, with the differential weathering of these patches resulting in the characteristic spotted appearance.
Depends on whether it was part of the natural vegetation there, or a planted tree. I don't know Western Australian eucalypts very well, but suggest checking E. wandoo if you think it was a local native. If it was planted, then Corymbia (Eucalyptus) maculata seem a slightly better match than C. citriodora, which has very narrow, willow-like leaves. Both are eastern species.
