I was at Leaser Lake last fall in Kempton, PA (outside of allentown in eastern Pennsylvania) and i found this unusual plant. It had a normal looking green stem and then above that a part of the plant that looked almost like part of a zig-zagging red sticker bush. On the ends of this sticker bush looking part was what looked almost exactly like a marshmallow(the standard small bagged ones) with a distinct black dot in the middle of it. There were 2 or three of these 'marshmallows' on the plant. The entire plant was probably about 6 inches high and not very wide. I had a picture on my old phone which I unfortunately forgot to save when I traded it in for my new phone. I showed it to most of the people I knew and nobody had any clue what it was. Any ideas? Thanks
No, it didn't look like this at all. Thank you though. Seriously, if you took about 2 inches of a plant stem glued it to a zigzagging red sticker bush about 4 or 5 inches high, slapped a couple marshmallows on it, and drew a black dot with a sharpie on the marshmallows, thats close to what i saw coming out of the ground.
aka thorns, brier patch, pricker bush. I suppose sticker bush is slang, just so common where I have lived that I thought it would be pretty pervasive. The were bright red sort of in the shape of several v's connected together(zigzagging)
