Hello. I'm new to these forums. I had a plant that showed up in my garden and I'm hoping someone can tell me what it is by looking at the picture. If not, I can provide details.

Hi Verle, a picture and description are always helpful. Take a look at this thread for instruction on how to post an image. Get back to us and we will try to figure out what's growing in your garden.

    weed or wildflower

hello Eric. I did follow instuctions for uploading an attachment and my computer said it had uploaded it. Who know where? Until I get my geek to show me what I'm doing wrong I'll just go with the description: The plant showed up two summers ago. It looked exactly like a fireweed so I let it stay. The first year it just grew leaves, elongated with a white stripe down the center. It stayed evergreen and in the late spring, it developed what looked like bracts. Inside each "bract" were 4 yellow blooms about the size of a pinhead. They quickly went to seed and the seeds were much larger than the blooms. They were green with a line down the middle. The plant was about a metre tall. I'm guessing it's a weed because it has no endearing qualities to want me to keep it. Hopefully, some will know what it is by the description. I will need to learn to attach pictures as I will have many more questions about plants!
    Thanks.

I suggest you compare it's fruits and the leaves to Euphorbia lathyris.
It is not a cultivated plant, since it is poisinous ,it can be used as medicine.
    There is a image I attached .

    It is Poisinous.

You'd better not to hurt it,such plants have milk in the vasular ,and most of them are poinsinous.

Thank you for your replies. I suspected it was a weed and the size of seeds scared me so I pulled it before they had a chance to spread. Thanks for solving my mystery.
