"Weed" identification

    A request came in on the plant information line at VanDusen requesting an identification of these weeds. Nothing immediately came to my mind although the roots suggest a shrub/tree. Anyone able to help identify?

    No, not a moss--too much root. Are the stems squared-off or rounded? My first impression is young Galium.
