This weed grows in great abundance at two adjoining locations in Kent UK. The soil at these locations is a fine loam. The leaf, when crushed has no particular odour. It grows usually to approx 6 inches high but can grow to double this. It pulls out of the ground quite easily. It is currently in flower. It seems to like semi-shade. I.D. help please!
Circaea lutetiana..common name Enchanters nightshade. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=C...P2-QGl3rLABw&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1536&bih=728
Thank you for ID. I was concerned that it was toxic - as children play in one location but I see not so. Thank you.
I meant to say when weeded out it has a long white root. Impossible to get rid of the pesky thing. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iAq5wGTSC...Ohkgbo/s1600/Enchanter's-nightshade_roots.jpg
