This was growing all over my flower beds and along the fence. It ranged from few inches to about 3 feet tall with extensive roots. The leaves seemed to match poision/water hemlock and it smelled a little like play dough or musty. Is this correct? Or did I dig up some of our landscaping?
It's not poison hemlock. It looks like maybe Campsis radicans Trumpet Creeper. It can become very invasive, but it is often planted for it's ornamental qualities. Here's a link for comparison: http://fp.bio.utk.edu/botany/Botany...u00/New webpage/Bignoniaceae/bignoniaceae.htm
Thanks for your response. Glad to hear that it's not poison hemlock, but I'm not quite sure its trumpet creeper either. I don't remember it getting those bright orange flowers last year and its less vine like and more shrub like.
