I was walking in the woods today in southern Ontario and saw plant/fungis? that I have never seen before. I think it is something that is sprouting? but not really sure. I was hoping to get some help identifying it. I wasn't very tall ~6 inches and I found it under the canopy of a maple and oak wooded area. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Looks like Monotropa uniflora, Indian pipe.

Chimera that is exactly what it is. When I searched Indian pipe the pictures are exactly the same. Thank you. What a curious plant. Nature is amazing! I have been in the woods thousands of times and still find something new each time.
