Here are five plants that I am having difficulty identifying. All were found in the wild except the yellow flower which was in a planter next to the doorway of a State Park Office, although I'm sure it's a wild plant also. 1. The entire plant is about 1.5-2.5 ft across in size. Went back to see if it changed over time, but it was gone. 2. A tiny white/purple flower. Size is apparent from its proximity to the cloverleafs. 3. Found last year growing in the same environment as Blue Vervain. About the same height, but with many more and much longer spindly seed stalks. No flowers that I can remember, although it was cut down shortly after, so I couldn't follow its progress. 4. Found many of these yesterday growing out of direct sunlight in damp woods. 5. Never seen in the wild except at the State Park office. Sort of looks like a buttercup, except much larger.
With that info I was able to identify the plants as follows: 1. Heracleum maximum Bartram - Common Cowparsnip 2. Viola arvensis - European Field Pansy 3. Verbena urticifolia - White Vervain 4. Pyrola chlorantha - Green-flowered Wintergreen 5. Stylophorum diphyllum - Celadine Poppy
