In The Garden: Volunteer tree identification

I am looking for some help identifying a tree that has become a volunteer in my garden these last two years. It blooms late and has gorgeous purple flower like blossoms. Located in southern Indiana any suggestions would help.

Species is weedy in Indiana, which is how you had one come up there on its own.
