    Hi,

Found this shrub out near the Grand Wash Cliffs (western edge of Grand Canyon). I think its an Artemisia sp., but which one? Most likely fall-flowering.

    Any ideas would be welcome.

    Thanks.

Fruits look like those of shrubs in the rose family. What about this one?

I'm not seeing the feathery achenes characteristic of that genus, but maybe they have fallen off of the receptacles shown.

Or it is another shrub entirely.

Don't think it's a Prunus, as I'm familiar with all of the species in that Genus around here. I compared the seed heads to another Artemisia species, and they are quite similar. The leaves in the picture are as developed as they get on the shrub.

Prunus is not what I suggested, but rather Purshia.

oops...still doesn't match any of the Purshia species here either.

Parthenium incanum, close to Ambrosia in Flora of North America.
