In The Garden: Unknown plants

The first picture has two plants growing in a pot.
One's a spike with small blue flowers, the other is growing all around it.
The second picture are plants similar to fire weed that are growing in a pot with a crab apple tree.

Here's another picture of photo number two from my original post now that it's blooming.
The petals are a very light purple.
