This plant was sold to me as a "Japanese Sedge" I have not been able to find anything resembling that name in any of my reference books and suspect that that name is incorrect. The plant easily overwinters in the lower mainland, grows to over 12 feet high and the stems are +/- 1 inch in diameter. I cut them down each fall and new shoots appear early in the spring. I am attaching a few photos for your perusal... (please pardon the quality.. it's a gloomy, rainy day here)
