Unknown plant in my garden

    For a few years I have enjoyed this plant in my bush garden. It is about 6-7ft tall and wide, flowers in mid winter (I took pic today and it is about to bloom), and has large bunches of yellow flowers. It looks kind of like a geranium, stem is easily snapped, leaves are furry and 6" across. It came up about 6-7 years ago out of the blue.
    Would love to know what it is. Seems to like it's position with morning sun and afternoon shade.

    Would be very grateful for any information.

    Yes, Roldana petasitis. Here it is causing some concern as a potential weed.

    Thanks for your input. I've looked it up and it is categorised as a pest plant in NZ.
