This 2 - 4 ft shrub grows in the dry plateau region of Tibet. It is woody, has spines ~ 1 - 2 inches long and blue, pea type flowers. Does anyone know what it is?
Looks like efloras Flora of China does not have pea family yet. Otherwise you could look there. Pinnate leaves in your picture not like Ulex (gorse) but flowers certainly Fabaceous. Their coloring is pretty fab as well.
There's one here, but it's not very easy! --> http://flora.huh.harvard.edu/china/mss/volume10/Fabaceae_key_to_subfamilies_tribes_genera_edited.htm
