unidentified plant, SC

    this is a plant found along the shore of Lake Hartwell in Oconee County, SC in October. I would like help identifying it. see attachment

    Can you repost after converting it to a jpg? Adobe Photoshop files (PSD) can only be opened by PS users (you'll get a larger audience of people viewing the image with a jpg).

    Here you are. I have not the foggiest what the plant is, but I do have Photoshop, and have converted the pic into a more user-friendly JPG.

    Hopefully someone here finds it more than just vaguely familiar.
