    Hello everone,

I just found that I got some slightly better pictures (at least from a photographer's point of view) of some of those green orchids with stem leaves than the very bad images from North Vancouver.
The orchids that I found near a parking lot in Mount Revelstoke National Park (roadside) were also very tall and looked rather similar to those from North Vancouver. The respective photographs have 248x582 and 192x600 pixels. I took these pictures on June 12, 2006.
The other two images (314x552 pixels and 305x700 pixels) are from a very boggy area in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park (in the Coast Mountains, east of Mount Currie at an elevation of about 1240-1300 m above sealevel). I took these pictures on June 20, 2006. Flowers were much denser here and the plants were much smaller than the ones from North Vancouver and from Mt. Revelstoke. So I suspect this might be a different species.
Can you identify these orchids, please? If it is necessary I might enlarge parts of the images. I also got some more images but these are much worse. Thanks, Robert.

Strictly on spur shape, I'd say both were Platanthera stricta again.

    Thank you!

I was somewhat astonished when I read that you assigned the Joffre lakes plants to Platanthera stricta but that's why I asked. I feel that Platanthera is a rather difficult genus in your area and obviously the keys and the nomenclature were changed quite a lot not too long ago. So thank you very much for your valuable help!

Well, I'd always entertain the possibility that I'm wrong. It does happen pretty often.
