Trifolium repens would be my guess. Commonly called clover as in the Irish and their 'lucky' four leaf clover. Bit of a weed in lawns but keep your turf high and thick and it will outgrow the clover. Clover also dies back through winter. Bees love it too, so don't rush into a patch bare-footed! Hope this helps. S.S
