trees in messina sicily

    Hello,
    My first question!
    On a recent trip to Sicily we came upon these street trees . Any one know what they are? I can not find them doing a google search.Thank you in advance

    Koelreuteria elegans. Or maybe Koelreuteria paniculata. The pink is not the actual flower. Those are yellow and almost as striking.

    These medium height trees with big globe canopies studded with puffs of golden yellow, changing to salmon pink seed capsules will draw oohs and ahs from visitors for each color. Suddenly, you can see them all over the suburban landscape. Definitely invasive in the US, but you can see them in the subtropical and tropical zones.

    Correct with Koelreuteria paniculata (the other has fully bipinnate leaves).
