Ditto to Wisteria. A climber, not a tree.

Wisteria are often pruned and trained to have tree-like shapes in gardens, perhaps example asked about was one such. In the past it has often been possible to buy at garden centers young specimens already formed by the grower into a single stem with a compact, elevated head. These are usually differentiated on nursery signs or labels as "trees".
