I read that, I guess Vancouver Sun. They're in use now in several places, and the company said you can cook them and eat them after you use them.
Sounds like the sugarcane straws reported on late last year* has competition. I wonder which will win out in the long term. * Taiwanese startup ramping up production of sugarcane straws.
Thanks for the reminder. I haven't run into any of those, but the article mentioned using them for bubble tea. The rice/tapioca ones come in two widths, one useful for bubble tea.
