Assuming it's a succulent. It has thick leaves like a succulent, but for the life of me I cannot identify this plant. Should've taken classes so I know what names in specific to look for. Now, this stuff is growing like crazy around areas that I tilled and amended. I don't know if I should take this question elsewhere, but can I leave it to grow? It serves as a very nice ground cover I think, but I'm worried it's going to choke out my flowers and veggies with its roots. I would prefer to leave it as it comes back quicker than you can pull it out....

Now, this is a tiny one, a clipping I took off. There's only one main stem that goes into the ground, and sometimes gets as thick as 2-3cm! Might get thicker if I let this stuff grow. From the main stem it branches out, laying close to the ground, not really shooting up that high. I'm worried this stuff might keep the lower-level flowers from getting enough sunlight, if that's possible in the desert. XD Anywho, any help in identifiying this mysterious plant is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post.
