Strange leaves on unknown plant

    MG needs assistance, please. I've never seen leaves like this on a plant before. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Couldn't we get a photo large enough to see? Are the leaves striped or is that sunlight?
    And is this a houseplant or an outdoor plant?

    I have very little information. This photo was the only one offered. It's in a pot growing on their patio. Sorry--wish I had more info too.
