We've got some shrubs along the side of the house that didn't seem remarkable in any way. They're pretty average (around 4 feet tall), and just seemed like any regular bush or shrub. However, the other day I noticed it has these brown buds/pods that have three lips that open and sort of remind me of a dragon's mouth. When it was raining, however, they closed and just looked like a normal bud.

Any help with identification would be helpful.
