I'm not asking a question but would appreciate comments. Despite my best efforts, it has been very difficult this summer to give my garden the amount of water it would really like. Yesterday I noticed that many leaves of Acer osakazuki had begun to go brown, dry and curl up. Then, overnight, we had a heavy rainfall and when I looked at the maple this morning, I saw that the dry parts of the leaves had rehydrated and stretched out again though the affected sections are now bleached. In all my years gardening, I've never seen anything like this before. Have you?
I've noticed it on my balcony (I don't have maples), when I haven't realized that something doesn't want to wait until watering day. When you catch it right away, the tissues seem to still be able to take up water and recover. I don't know if these photos are just small size, but we can't click to enlarge them. Maybe check out Attach photos and files.
