should I prune?

    Can you identify this plant? It has finished flowering and some of the plant stems have flopped over laying on the ground, so am wondering if I should prune? If so, should I prune to within 3 or 4 inches? Thank you.

    Yes you can prune off the flower stems. Just cut them low enough so that the leaves cover the cuts and they will look fine. Looks like a Poppy.

    Oriental poppy. Whole top dries up after flowering, with new foliage appearing later in summer after a period of dormancy. Just wait until it shrivels and then clear away all of the spent parts in one go.
