Shady Shrub

    This bush/shrub is growing in what seems to be fairly deep shade on the west side of Alma street in Vancouver. BC. I could have knocked on the door but am far too shy to do such a thing - or at least, SWMBO would have been mortified had I done so. Can anyone attach a name to it?

    Perhaps shade interspersed with periods of sunshine.
    Perhaps Rose is of a shade-loving variety.

    In any case, she is beautiful and appears to be quite happy.
