Seed spitting plant - impatient family?

    This plant is a self seeder that I do not know the name of.
    It, I believe, is related to the impatient family, grows quite tall and
    spits it seeds out with force when touched.

    Tender stalks and stems, flowers range from light pink to magenta or purple.

    I have hundreds of these growing in a along Kilamalu creek running through my property. Some are at least 10 feet tall

    Any ideas? Sorry no photo yet.

    Yes, it is an Impatiens.
