The first one is found abundantly in Vancouver gardens. It is a big shrub, growing into a spreading plant almost like a small tree. It has a beautiful scent. I think those who know it will recognize it immediately, so I'm just submitting one picture. The other (2 pictures) is a smallish tree which at present is covered in rather delightful white pompoms. Quite pretty. Thank you for identifications if you know them.
