Sarawak purple flowering tree id

    Hi. Could you help me identify the purple flowering tree in the attached photos?

    The photos were taken in Kuching, Sarawak on Borneo earlier this month (June 2014).

    The tree looks like some sort of jacaranda but I didn't think they grew on Borneo (and I basically don't have enough knowledge to id these things anyway by subspecies).

    Any answers would be helpful.
