red berry ever green

    hi just moved into my house in va zip code is 22443

    there are two ever green bushes similar to holy , the tops of the leaves are green & look smooth like wax , the under neath is is a lighter flat/dull lime green , each leaf has a single spike on the tip

    the bushes grow many red berries and I was wondering what kind of plant this is and if the berries are good for anything

    I never noticed anything eating them

    guess I shouldnt use the berries to flavor the mead I been making =)
