I need to replace some of this an have no idea what it is. It kind of looks like a creeping thrift but the leaves are differant. I am in eastern NC an it blooms early spring.
That looks like Phlox subulata...common name creeping or mossy Phlox It looks wonderful in the spring. There are many named cultivars depending on which colour you want phlox subulata - Google Search
