If you need to share personal information with other forum members, such as to arrange a seed exchange for example, you can use the Private Messaging function of the forums. IMPORTANT: to use private messaging, you need to have posted three messages to the forums and be a member for a couple days (this was instituted to reduce spam).

You can send private messages from the control panel (click My Settings on the green bar at the top of the forums - control panel appears on left).

The simplest way to send a private message is to click on a member's name in a thread. This results in a drop down menu, one of the choices being to send a private message.

You can also bring up the user's profile page. On the right side is a section of contact info. From here, if the forum member has allowed it, you can send a private message or an email. (You will also get the user's profile page if you click on a member's name from the main page of the forums.)

When you visit the Forums, be sure to check in the upper right of he opening page to see if anyone has sent you a private message. If you would like the forums to notify you by email when someone has sent you a private message, this can be set in the Messaging and Notification section of Edit Options on the Control Panel.
