Can anyone tell me what type of plum tree this is? It is about 15' tall and 15' around, the fruit seems to ripen from the inside out (a green plum will be red in the middle around the seed), it is a self-pollinator as far as I know ( no other plum trees around that I know of) I can provide more pictures if needed.

If this is an orchard plum rather than one of the native American species you may have to show 6 sample fruits to a fruit expert at a fruit show or other opportunity to begin to get somewhere with this.

Thank you for your reply. Do you know of anywhere in Georgia that I could take it?

Georgia Cooperative Extension may have information about an upcoming fruit show or be able to assist in some other way.
