I moved into my home 2 years ago and have noticed this yellow perennial growing by my sidewalk. It blooms in small bunches in very early spring or even very late winter, if you will. I would appreciate knowing the name of this flower, and the best way to transplant it. Advice on best time of year, and post-transplant care would also be appreciated. The photos were taken on March 17, 2009 at about 1:30pm EST.
Look like Crocus. see.... http://images.google.com/images?q=y...1I7SUNA_en-GB&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi Crocus grow from corms.see... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2360/1865174612_9e46ede1fb.jpg?v=0 Wait until the summer, by then all the leaves will have wilted and died back. Dig the clump up, and replant 3-4" deep. They will reappear next sping.
Crocus ... I would have never guessed it. The only Crocus I have seen were either white, bluish, or purple. Thank you both very much, and thank you for the transplanting tips.
